PCR Procedure Extension to 96 Hours


PCR procedures for entry into Maldives has been updated. The time has been extended from 72 hours to 96 hours prior to departure. New procedures will come into effect from 15th October 2020.

Please find below some details on arrival procedures to Maldives

- Tourists traveling to Maldives will be provided with visa on arrival. Tourists must have a confirmed hotel reservation at a registered tourist facility for the entire stay.

- All travellers must hold a negative result for a nucleic acid test (PCR test) for COVID-19 prior to entry into The Maldives.

- The sample for the PCR test must be taken not more than 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure from the first port of embarkation en-route to The Maldives.

- Children below one year of age are exempted from the requirement of PCR test.

- If the passenger makes a transit during the journey, the initial PCR test will be valid if the transit do not exceed 24 hours.

- If a passenger makes a transit exceeding 24 hours, the passenger must take a repeat PCR test within 96 hours prior to embarkation at the port of transit.
